On Second Thought

Well, it turns out I’m not really the daily-posting type. Nothing of interest happened yesterday. I went to the one photography show I had picked out in advance, enticingly titled “Projections Onto the East,” but it turned out to be a total dud, without any discernible relationship to the title. Its only redeeming feature was the venue, a strange pseudo-antiquity called the Schinkel Pavilion, constructed during GDR times and previously invisible to me, despite the fact that I must have passed by it half a dozen times.

I did go to Dussmann and encountered my Berlin book piled in stacks on the nonfiction table of the English Bookshop. So that was a thrill. I even took a photo so as to be able to savor the pleasure over time.

I will be back tomorrow only if I have anything to say.
